Lyndon Manalo

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I came here in the U.S. in 1990. In 2001, I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, major in Computer Arts, at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco.

I collect Japanese woodblock prints which is the inspiration behind my artworks. I take pictures with my camera and then edit them in my computer using Photoshop.

When I make art, I put much of myself into the piece; my camera is my paint brush and the world is my canvas! My art is a reflection of my internal state. The thought process of every art piece that I create always includes the background and the people in it. My subject matter is the nature around me; the bright sunshine, the blue skies, the majestic mountains, the beautiful ocean, the green trees, etc.

My goal is to inspire others with my artwork and I want them to see the beauty of the world in the way I express myself as an artist. My artworks are often defined by vibrant colors which creates a sense of freedom and If I can move another person and lift their spirit with it, I can definitely say that my purpose as an artist is accomplished!
