Artist Statement: I am a mixed media artist: found metal art, fiber, and oil painting. Returning to college following the passing of my husband allowed me to discover new paths in creative expression. Earning my Bachelors and Masters Degrees showed me how strong I could be and where my life's passion lies.
I have always been a maker, but college taught me to delve deeper into an idea, into myself. Creating began as an outlet for my pain and became a testament to my rebirth.
Painting is an immediate expression of my inner self. I do not have a pre-planned concept but rather clear my mind and let my spirit flow. Using a palette knife allows me to keep the expressive quality I desire.
