Robert Foster

Robert is a third generation San Franciscan. His artistic and creative talents were recognized at an early age. His art work was continuously singled out and acknowledged throughout his education.

While he was offered a scholarship to further pursue his art studies in college Robert elected to study Business as a major and studied art only as a minor study.

During the late 1960’s, San Francisco had become the epicenter for creativity in both art and music.  With the music scene exploding in the City by the Bay, Robert saw the opportunity to lend his artistic talent to this movement by developing poster art and album cover designs for many of the local bands coming out of San Francisco at that time.

With Robert’s love of both music and art, it eventually became the catalyst that morphed into his career in theatrical management which then evolved into the development of a recording studio (Freeway Recording Inc.), a production company as well as a music publishing entity.

After approximately eight years in the music business Robert made a change in the direction of his career. He entered into the field of real estate, which included developing, investing, sales and management.

After 42 years in this field he retired as President and Chief Operating Officer for the number one real estate brokerage company in the greater Los Angeles area. In 2018, the Los Angeles Business Journal named Robert to the LA 500 most influential people in Los Angeles list.

During this time Robert continued his art work primarily for his own enjoyment. Mostly selling works through reputation and word of mouth.

When Robert retired in 2019, his art work production significantly escalated, and he successfully sold his works and also developed works on consignment.

Robert has donated works to the Dart for Art LimeLight Foundation and has been rewarded with his works being selected in the First or Second rounds each time.
