Wave Painting

Statement: I believe we all carry an ocean within ourselves. It’s what empowers our emotions. One moment a rushing current accelerates the heartbeat, only to become cold and still the next. In this painting I began to express many different emotions to what I believe can describe the challenge to change who I once was. Waves can come crashing down almost threatening to drown who we are but once it’s over, nature creates a beautiful balance to become peaceful again. If you let it, the tide will slowly bring you back out to the deep depths of the sea where there will be many unexplored thoughts and feelings that are not as visible on the surface. The ocean represents the soul, nature, emotions, and primal things within our own depths.
