Say Her Name
Say Her Name is a tribute to the deeply rooted narratives of existing as a Black woman in America. Through this piece, I intend to bring more attention to the impact of trauma and memory on the emotional and mental wellness of women, particularly marginalized women. I illustrate the collective trauma of Black women using the pineapple's symbolism to create more positive memories in hopes of rewiring the crown (brain plasticity).
