Stephen Seymour

I was born in Lubbock Texas in 1961. As a child I lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Southern California. At an early age I developed an interest in art. I started painting and drawing as a child. While in high school I painted every day. While at Edison High School I attended summer classes at the Art Institute in Pasadena. 

In 1980 I attended Parsons School of Design at the New School for Social Research in NYC. I lived in the Lower East Side.  After school I spent some time designing textiles. In 1984 I got a job with FedEx where I spent the next 32 years. I retired from FedEx as the Managing Director of Operation in 2017 for Northern California and Hawaii to paint full time.

My paintings are influenced by my travels. Lately I have spent time in San Miguel de Allende & Oaxaca Mexico and Antigua & Lake Atitlan Guatemala. Both Mexico and Guatemala are rich in culture, color, and texture. I hope to express this through the brush strokes and colors seen in my paintings.
